October Colors in My Garden

Surrounded by fir trees and evergreen shrubs, our garden stays predominantly green year around.
Not as green as in summer thanks to brown, purple and yellow popping up here and there.

This is Schisandra chinensis with its lemon-yellow and lemon-scented leaves.

Hydrangea is changing its blooms' color again - now, from green to purple and violet.

Lacecap Hydrangea 'Princess Lace'

Hydrangea macrophilla 'Izu no Hana'

I remember buying this fuchsia in a 4" pot for $2.50. What an investment!
Reliable, long-blooming, beautiful shrub! Unfortunately, I misplaced the tag and don't remember its name.

Karen, thank you for this baby from your garden. I think it likes its new home!

Double Otto - never fails me!

Look at all the creatures on the abutilon! They appeared in fall. I guess they like cooler weather.
I just squish them with my fingers.

Euforbia brown blooms stay till they start looking ugly. So far, they look not bad with lavender flowers.

Gunnera m. deserves the best compliments. I just hope it won't rot during our mild wet winter.

Woodland Aster (Aster divaricatus, Eurybia divaricata) from Heronswood.
Spread, please, spread....

Leucosceptrum stellipilum ‘Ogon'

Anemone  - what a great addition to my garden! Love them!

The darkest from all my anemones - 'Lucky Charm'. Charming!

Grape fruit are shared with the birds, but leaves are all mine, on the vines and on the ground.

Korean Lilac

Cyclamens attract not only with their  lovely flowers and leaves, but also with their cute curls.

And last, but not least, moss - the ever-present part of my garden.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great second part of October!

  3. It's always a pleasure to tour your garden with you! We have done a lot of putting away in our garden these last two days. With storms coming, I'm not sure when we'll get back out there.

    1. Linda, thank you! I needed to do more by this time, but many plants still look so good. I guess I'll work in rain and cold, he-he!

  5. Your garden is stunning in all seasons and your keen eye captures it beautifully! I recently brought home an Anemone 'Lucky Charm' as well. Now it will make me think of you.

  6. Your garden is beautiful year round! And so lush. We are in the middle of a drought, and I am afraid we will have little fall color this year. Everything is shriveling and turning brown. Your fuchsias are very pretty. I also adore your pigs!
