It was hot, hot, hot when we visited the Missouri Botanical Garden in July. That is why multiple water features looked especially attractive.
I like the picture above. The water lily looks washed out, but look at its reflection in the water!
Walled Ottoman Garden was opened in 2006. Interesting facts - there are no surviving examples of these types of the garden (Turkey, 16-19 centuries), and St.Louis and Istanbul are located approximately on the same latitude thus having chances to grow the same plants.
Citrus, pomegranate and other fruit trees, bulbs, roses, herbs are presented here.
The Garden has an impressive sculpture collection
Hemerocallis was blooming, but many plants had already started to wilt.
Nevertheless, the variety of the plants and the beauty of the flowers were stunning.
Over a dozen species plus 1700 hybrids!

I often remind myself - if you don't have space for a new plant, you always can put it into a container!
Shade parts of the Garden looked especially attractive on the hot day.

Demonstration gardens offer many ideas!
Hydrangeas looked healthy and lush not only in the garden, but also along the streets of St.Louis.
I admired the variety with pale green flowers.
My last stop was at the Cacti and Succulents Display.
One word - outstanding!
It was a short visit, and a big part of the Garden didn't get into my camera.
Wonderful place!
