'Bainbridge in Bloom' Garden Tour: "Paradise for Plant Collectors"

We continue to enjoy the gardens of Bainbridge Island, included in the 30th and last 'Bainbridge in Bloom' Garden Tour in June 2018.
In this garden, belonging to Linda and Ethan Skyler, I loved so many things!
The first thing I noticed was the variety of plant material, including hundreds of shade-loving plants. They all looked healthy and happy.
I liked what Linda and Ethan have done over the years with their lawn. It was replaced with big plant beds supported by stone. Plant beds' configuration and location create an illusion that the garden is very big: you follow grassy and stone paths, walk around one bed, then up around another bed, and another, and it seems like a labyrinth.
For me, it was a labyrinth in which I didn't want to find a way out.
Another thing I liked was how multiple containers were incorporated in the garden.
There are groups of them at the porch, at the garden shed, and there are containers everywhere in the plantbeds. Those among the plants are coordinated in color and compliment the close-by foliage.
The garden art includes lots of bunnies and frogs which make you smile!

As I understand, the lilies in the garden will bloom yellow and orange and be accented by the orange glass ornaments.

I could imagine how the garden looks with all the azaleas and rhododendrons blooming...

Hosta is a signature plant here.
I didn't have a chance to ask the owners what is their secret in keeping slugs away.

Fern is another important plant in the garden. Lots of it!

Cozy patio is hidden among the plants.

Texture, texture, texture...

What a great collection of plants acquired by the owners during almost 40 years!

We've been here already. I told you, you can be lost in the garden!

You probably can tell that I tried to photograph every square foot of the garden!

The garden with its trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses and ground covers is a welcoming place for wildlife.

There are so many vignettes to enjoy!

Hundreds and hundreds of interesting, beautiful plants. I can see Linda walking through the garden in the morning and tending to them.
Thank you, Linda and Ethan, for allowing us to browse through your garden!
I was in awe all the time that I spent in it! And, I was not alone in my excitement and appreciation!

It seems like an enormous place, and so closely packed with interesting and beautiful plants and ornaments. Thanks for giving us a glimpse!
