Tete-A-Tete With Kew Gardens On A Rainy Day. 1 - Walled Garden And Around

I laughed and I almost cried. I was alone at the most wonderful spots of these wonderful gardens.
It was the middle of May, it was Tuesday and it was cloudy and partially rainy. Maybe, this is a recipe to have a tet-a-tet date with the Kew Gardens in London.
My own garden requires my attention after our 16-day trip to Europe. That is why I won't comment much but just show some pictures of these gardens. They, obviously, change every month and even every week. This is how I saw them on May 14th, 2013.
I hope you'll enjoy!

Order Beds and Rose Pergola.
Originally, there was a kitchen garden here which supplied fruit, vegetables and herbs for the royal table.

  1. Wow, what beautiful gardens you were able to visit and virtually had it all to yourself. That's great, a blessing really.

  4. I was there in 2011, end of April, they had a really early spring so we actually missed what we went for, the spring bulbs, it was such a different picture then. The flowers change but the grandeur of the walls is wonderful. Thanks for letting me relive it.

  8. We are going to London for the first time in September, so I was very interested to see these photos. Do you know of other gardens in London that are worth seeing? We are lucky to have a friend who lives near Great Dixter and Sissinghurst so we will visit her and see those two gardens.

    2. Hi Tatyana
Your pictures are fantastic. Its a shame about the rain but that is what makes our gardens so green - we have had an exceptionally wet year tho. I live about 20 miles from Kew but havent been there for years. There are so many lovely gardens in this area that we are spoilt for choice.
Jason - I can recommend Wisley gardens which is close to where I live in Woking. The Chelsea Physic Garden in London is well worth a visit and if you go there you should also visit the Garden Museum which is not far away.During the summer months a lot of private gardens are also open under the Yellow Book Scheme
      Best wishes
      Maureen

  11. Thanks for the tour of this fabulous garden! If we only had a staff, the space, the resources, and years of maturity, our gardens would look very similar, right?
