From 'Dan Hinkley's new garden lives up to the hype'

"For those of you who don't know who Hinkley is, he is a plant collector, propagator, lecturer and author; in the gardening world, he's the equivalent of a rock star.
As former co-owner of Heronswood Nursery, he created a woodland garden considered one of the most stunning in America. He filled it with exotic forest-floor plants gathered in worldwide plant expeditions, and, in the process, popularized woodland plants such as arisaemas and mayapples (Podophyllum)...".

  5. One of those first photos looks like Anemone nemerosa 'Vestal', which I ordered from Heronswood this spring. I'm still waiting for it to grow from its bareroot state, but that photo makes me excited for when it's established. So pretty!

  7. Beautiful garden! It demonstrates what a variety of beautiful plants will grow in a woodland. My dream garden! I especially love the trilliums, which is a different variety from the native plant that grows in my woodland here.
