Neighborhood Walk

Since our house is surrounded by huge conifers, I took a walk to see all the beautiful autumn colors.

*

*

This is the brightest yard I've ever seen!
*

*

*

Japanese Plum trees
*

View of the Olympic mountains.
Looking at this picture tells us what trees are most prevalent in the Pacific Northwest. Right, evergreen trees.*

Golf course is always evergreen, too.

*

Three sisters. They get their leaves, change their colors and drop them synchronically, at the same time.
*

Hydrangea. Do you see it?
*

This is another one
*

Something does not fit in this picture.
It's a white light, don't you think so?
*
Peeking into a For Sale garden. There are quite a bit of them around.
Nobody enjoys this fall garden beauty. It is sad.
*
Tennis court
*

Birch trees are still green.
*
Back home. And back to work.

Rob's post So Much To Do
reminded me about zillions of garden chores. While he has to deal with walnuts, I have to pick up pine cones. Where are the squirrels when I need them?

*
Actually, the name of this post is not correct. Did you notice how I did my "walk"?
There are two pictures which answer the question. But it's not important, I just wanted you to enjoy October in one of our northwestern neighborhoods.
*
Have a great day!

  1. What gorgeous Fall pictures Tatyana! I love the reds, especially where the brightest garden was.All of the red leaves fallen upon the ground were even pretty. All of the green makes the Fall colors pop even more.

  5. Tatyana you're going to have to stop this. This is exactly the sort of thing that makes people want to move here. You know the rules. Rain, rain, rain, grey skies, rain, grey skies...We have a reputation to uphold you know. LOL
Really gorgeous pictures. Your neighborhood looks devine!

  6. Hello Tatyana,

You live in an absolutely gorgeous area! I like it when people let the bright autumn leaves lie on the ground for a while because that just adds even more beauty like some of your neighbors have done.

  8. Hello tatyana, thank you very much for stopping by my blog and leaving me such a sweet comment.
As I don´t like autumn very much I believe you have opened my eye to a whole new world which I appreciate so, so much... thanks for these amazing autumn images of your neighbourhood.

  9. Hi Tatyana~~ I noticed those two bicycles!! You can't fool me. LOL Actually I would have preferred riding too. Is this your neighborhood? It's beautiful. Not just the pristine plantings but the houses themselves are works of art. I'm glad we haven't had any serious windstorms this year. The leaves look so much nicer still attached to the trees.

  17. Spectacular photos, Tatyana! This is a gorgeous display of fall color. I thought the Northwest was always rainy:) Instead, that seems to be the everyday forecast here in the Midwest this fall. I noticed the bicycle in one of the photos; I guess I need to look a little more closely to find the second photo of it.

  21. Tatyana, I so enjoyed your beautiful fall pictures. We don't get much fall color here in Austin, so I love seeing it on other garden blogs.

  25. Good morning Tatyana, what beautiful colors and great composition! Your photos are really great. I love the variety of colors. The trees that you have in your region are not necessarily the ones we have here in Virginia, though there are some that overlap. Love the hydrangea picture with the blue conifer to contrast the bloom and foliage of the hydrangea. Each photo is its own WOW! Great post.

  34. Oh they are all just breathtaking, Tatyana! I especially love the colorful deciduous leaves against the stalwart evergreens. The hydrangea shot is so full of depth, three dimensional! Boo to the white lampost. It should be black, or a nice aged copper! :-)

  40. Fabulous colors Tatyana. I wish I could fly out and buy one of those "for sale" houses and live in your neighborhood ~ it's just beautiful. I agree that all the evergreens make the vivid fall colors "pop" even more. It looks like they might be at their peak right now?? Enjoy it while it lasts.
Also many thanks for your comments & wishes about my daughters hospitalization. I hope your boys are recovering now and won't take any turns for the worse. I learned so much more than I ever wanted to about Swine Flu while we were in the hospital. I'm not a doctor but I'd be happy to share any info if you want it. Hopefully, everything is fine now tho and you can put any worries behind you.

  41. Tatyana! No matter how good the camera and the subject matter, and they are supurb, it takes a great photographer to produce such ravishingly beautiful shots! Thanks for sharing. Jack

  45. Stunning photos and yards. I am so so jealous of your location. Climate wise, I've already decided that the pacific nw is ideal for me, now all that remains is to find work in the area. Oh right, good luck. :)
