Is it a sky fallen into the lake or is it a lake floating in the sky?

How can people drive by without stopping here? Maybe, it's good that they don't stop...

How many shades of green does nature have?

If this is not beautiful, then what is?

Small lake somewhere on the Kitsap Peninsula, state Washington.
We took a day trip to Port Townsend, drove along the Hood Canal and I almost caused an accident when suddenly shouted: "Stop!!!Stop!!!" when saw this lake.
Nobody was around.
My heart just sunk.
Pristine...

  2. This reminds me a bit of home. We live on a 48 acre lake and have several large pines and cedars. They are so beautiful all year round. We have often said it did not matter what kind of house we built, it would be beautiful b/c of the view. I never fail to appreciate it, and thank God there are still lovely sites to see.

  17. Nice Zen post. If a lake exists in the woods and nobody stops to look at it, does it really exist? Well, you know it does, since you did stop. Lovely! I do those frantic screech-stop pull-overs too. :)

  18. Tatyana,

I agree I would have stopped as well. Some people can be at the most perfect place and never know it.

  19. The most shades of green I've ever seen were in Hawaii. Though where I grew up looks more like your first few photos above. There were little lakes (big ponds) off in the woods with no roads or people. We'd take our fishing poles into the woods. Never caught anything significant, but the fishing was easy!

  20. Pristine is as fine of a word as I can think of to encompass these photos. That, and perhaps serenity...
